The Dutch coast is on the edge of a huge drowned land: Doggerland.  In the last 1 million years the area between the Dutch coast and the coast of England, Scotland, Norway and Denmark has mostly been dry and fertile land. The landscape was a river delta with grasslands and forests. Mighty birds like the snow owl lived here. Inspired by these prehistoric finds, I wrote a legend about a seer in the former Doggerland who decides her people has to follow the snow owl to higher grounds. This legend was inspired me to make this artwork.
