100×130 cm, 2023

This artwork is made with red and warm yellow acrylic with gold and yellow metallic details in it. This painting of a chrysanthemum is part of a series inspired by a greenhouse area near The Hague where flowers are the biggest export product. I was born and raised in this area. I used to work in greenhouses with chrysanthemums for years before I went to art school. For this series I collaborated with the poet Joop Alleblas. This artwork was exhibited in the Flower Art Museum during summer 2024.
