70×50 cm, 2023
This mixed media painting is inspired by the song ‘Roxanne’, written by Sting from The Police. George Michael gave ‘Roxanne’ a new jazzy sound. Since my teenage years, I always listens to George Michael while working on art. The tablecloth I used to put my paint on while working, appeared to become an amazing painting itself. So I used it to make an artwork in a more experimental style in the series ‘Subtle Nudes’ Ie was working on. The result is this beautiful artwork with an urban, street art style. The song text is handwritten with gold colored leaf metal in the background. The artwork has many different colors. The main colors are green, red, pink and gold, but there are also yellow, gray and blue tones.
