The book “Bezonken Rood” by Jeroen Brouwers served as a source of inspiration for some artworks in this series. The is based upon his descriptions of a long lost love: “In my imagination I saw her in the rectangular lit window above the clock shop window as if on a television screen.”
Other artworks in this series are inspired by chat-messages the artist received on facebook during the Corona lockdowns. There was a lot of loneliness during the Corona-Lockdowns. As a result, many men saw the artist but not the painting. Click the artworks to read more.
Het boek “Bezonken Rood“ van Jeroen Brouwers diende als inspiratiebron voor sommige kunstwerken in deze serie. De vrouw is gebaseerd op zijn beschrijving van een lang verloren liefde: “In mijn verbeelding zag ik haar in het rechthoekig verlichte raam boven de etalage van de klokkenwinkel als op een televisiescherm.”
Andere kunstwerken in deze serie zijn gebaseerd op chat-berichten die de kunstenaar tijdens de Corona lockdowns ontving via Facebook. Er heerste veel eenzaamheid. Veel mannen op facebook zagen daardoor wel de schilder maar niet het schilderij. Klik op de kunstwerken om meer te lezen.
